Samsung’s Terrace TV is back bigger and better than ever.
The South Korean electronics company unveiled the largest model in the series on Tuesday. The 85-inch outdoor TV is packed with upgrades that ensure vivid picture quality in alfresco settings. It is also far more grandiose than the previous 55-, 65- and 75-inch Terrace models. (The $20,000 price tag is quite grand, too.)
Most notably, the newcomer offers “Neo QLED” picture technology instead of regular QLED like its predecessors. In other words, the TV has more precise Mini LED dimming zones for improved contrast and black levels. The 85-inch design also has a higher dust- and water-resistance rating than previous sizes and is thus better protected from the elements.
In addition, the TV has 100-percent color volume for “a billion shades of brilliant color that won’t wash out in extreme brightness” and an anti-glare screen that will keep the picture clear in direct sunlight, according to Samsung. The display can also reach more than 1,500 nits of peak brightness.

You needn’t worry about any on-screen motion blurring, either. The set’s Quantum Processor 4K can automatically upscale content into 4K, reduce image noise, restore lost details, and display sharp definition regardless of the input source. The TV is also equipped with HDR10+, one of the newest high dynamic range (HDR) formats, which allows the HDR content to dictate settings as needed on a scene-by-scene basis.
Another upgrade for this year’s model is the addition of the Samsung Gaming Hub. You’ll be able to access more than 3,000 games from streaming partners like Xbox, Nvidia, Amazon, and the like, without having to connect the consoles. Samsung TV Plus also offers access to over 2,000 channels globally.
To top it off, the Samsung Tizen operating system gives you access to 600 apps and allows you to control nearby smart devices. Another highlight is the “SolarCell Remote,” which keeps itself charged via a solar panel. (The design is expected to prevent 200 million batteries from reaching landfills over the next seven years, according to Samsung.)
