TCL X955 debuts as extra
TCL has announced that the X955 has come to join the C955 on the fast-emerging super-sized TV market. However, while both have the OEM's quantum-dot (QD) mini-LED technology touted for "exceptional picture quality" with "lifelike colors" (98% of the DCI-P3 gamut), the newer model has an even higher peak brightness rating and even more FALD.
The X955 has been unveiled as an "HDR 5,000 nits" TV, with an "unprecedented" 5,184 of its aforementioned dimming zones. It is powered by TCL's latest AiPQ Processor 3.0 AI algorithm suite to optimize per-scene motion reproduction as well as color, contrast and clarity.
The X955 has been presented in 85- and 95-inch variants, with up-to-160W 4.2.2-channel, Dolby Atmos-enhanced audio power from Onkyo onboard for "powerful cinematic audio performance", yet still has the 144Hz and VRR specs of some smaller, gaming-oriented TCL TVs - with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to boot.
The TCL X955 is to be released to "select global markets", although the OEM has yet to mention when this might be, or how much they might cost.
